JOB DESCRIPTION: Lead Carpenter/Superintendent

PAY: Starting at $62,000 a year based on qualification and merit

We are currently seeking a Lead Carpenter/Superintendent. If you have excellent carpentry, leadership and customer service skills and enjoy working on a variety of complex projects this position may be for you.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Produce completed remodeling projects on time and in budget including::

JOB FUNCTIONS

1.       Job Set Up:

a)   Review specifications and drawings for errors and omissions and make corrections as necessary

b)    Demonstrates familiarity with and understanding of contract terms and provisions

c)     Develop project schedule

d)    Schedule and facilitate pre-construction walk through meetings

e)     Order materials and schedule sub-contractors subsequent to pre-construction walk through and keep job log updated accordingly

f)      Be responsible for controlling job costs and staying in budget

2.     Job Expediting:

a)     Coordinate subcontractor schedules and material deliveries to ensure optimal efficiency

b)    Responsible for nothing less than spotless, excellent jobsite cleanliness at all times

c)     Responsible for jobsite safety and security of homeowner’s belongings

d)    Execute and manage projects with onsite personnel and subcontractors

e)     Oversee all job production procedures and maintain the company standards for excellent quality workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications

f)      Resolve job related problems including structural issues, procedures, clean up, and protocol

g)    Coordinate with design and field crews to ensure project execution exceeds expectations

h)    Keep in continual contact with customers through the course of every job to ensure it is completed to the highest level of customer satisfaction

 

3.     Keep Owner updated daily on job progress, problems, scheduling conflicts and change orders

4.     Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, city and county officials, and clients

5.     Schedule and co-ordinate inspections

6.     Facilitate completion of change orders as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.     Competence in a variety of trades, high technical aptitude required

2.     Great attitude and excellent communication skills

3.     10 + years of experience in the residential remodeling industry in a similar role

4.     Experience with various trades (plumbing, electrical, paint, etc)

5.     Experience using heavy equipment (i.e. skid steer, mini ex, etc) preferred, but not required

6.     This candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership abilities and possess above average written and oral communication skills, including strong negotiation skills

7.     The ability to work well in a team environment is also essential for this position

8.     Deadline and detail-oriented
